Message from the TC

Dear Fulton County Taxpayer:

It has been a privilege serving as the Fulton County Tax Commissioner since January 1, 1997. During this period, the Tax Commissioner's Office has undergone significant transformations designed to improve accessibility to the office and provide better service to you, our customers.

The Tax Commissioner's Office now has five full-service locations to serve you in neighborhoods where you live, work, and shop. In addition, two days each week senior citizens can conveniently renew their motor vehicle tags at the Dorothy Benson Multi-Purpose Center in North Fulton and the Harriet G. Darnell Multi-Purpose Center in South Fulton.

Our interactive voice messaging system with fax-back capabilities allows you to receive information on all facets of this office without leaving your home or office. We have provided the capability to allow you to renew your tags and pay property taxes over the internet with major credit cards.

As laws in Georgia change, the Tax Commissioner's Office will continue to adapt our processes to provide the most efficient tax collection system for the governing authorities we serve. Since 1997, we have increased the collection rate for property taxes in Fulton County from 90 percent to 99 percent. It is important that the collection rate remains high so each individual taxpayer's share of taxes is less. Tax revenues are used by governing authorities to provide services that improve the quality of life for the residents of Fulton County. A high collection rate enables the governing authorities to keep taxing rates down, hence keeping taxes lower.

As circumstances necessitate, I will communicate with you via this medium on changes in laws and pass along any information which may affect you. My office will continue to strive to be effective, accessible, and fair to all the citizens of this great County.

Sincerely,

Arthur E. Ferdinand
Fulton County Tax Commissioner
